MICONAZOLE

It is a broad-spectrum antimycotic with bactericidal action, combines a highantifungal activity against dermatophytes, yeasts and other phycomycetes, Ascomycetes and Adelomycetes with a potent anti bacterial activity against gram-positive bacilli and cocci. It has proved to be effective in mycoses, which with other treatments were resistant or had relapsed.

Indications

Tinea capitis, T. corporis, T. manuum, T. pedis (athlete’s foot), T. barbae, T.Cruris. T. unguium or onychomycosis. Pityriasis versicolor. Candidosis of skin and nails.

Dosage

Apply to lesions twce daily, rub gently till disappears for 2-5 wks.

Special Precautions

Avoid contact with eyes, super infection. Pregnancy & lactation.

Drug Interactions

Potentiates anticoagulant effect of warfarin.
