RETIONIC ACID

(all trans Vitamin A acid, Tretinoin): It is a potent comedolytic and has potential to rritate the skin. It has no antibacterial action but stimulates epidermal cell turnover causes peeling.

Indications

Acne vulgaris and acne venenata.

Dosage

Apply 1-2 times daily on the entire area with lesions for 6-7 wks.

Contra-Indications

Acute eczema rosacea. Cuts, abrasions. Acute dermatitis. Eyes, nose, mouth mucous membranes.

Special Precautions

Pregnancy. Avoid exposure to sunlight.UV lamps. Avoid concomitant therapy with conventional acne, medical or cosmetic products.

Side Effects

Feeling of warmth, stinging, excessive redness, oedema and crusting.
