SILODOSIN

It is an alpha(1) blocker. It works by relaxing muscles in the prostate and bladder, which helps to improve urine flow and reduce symptoms of BPH.

Indications

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)


Dosage

2mg to 8mg per day in single or toe doses.


Contra-Indications

Allergy to drug, along with another, alpha blocker like prazosin, severe kidney or liver problems.

Side Effects

Decreased sexual ability; diarrhea;dizziness; headache; lightheadedness; runny or stuffy nose; sinus inflammation; stomach pain; trouble sleeping; weakness.


Drug Interactions

Alpha blocker, azole antifungals, cyclosporine, clarithromycin, itraconazole.
