Stepping up to support communities devastated by floods in Punjab and parts of Northern India, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has deployed a team of doctors and nursing officers to provide urgent medical relief.

The team, comprising specialists in medicine, psychiatry, pediatrics, community medicine, surgical disciplines, radiodiagnosis, and laboratory medicine, will work on the ground to deliver essential healthcare services. Senior nursing professionals from the office of the Chief Nursing Officer have also joined the mission to strengthen patient care in flood-hit areas.

The doctors and nurses are tasked with treating patients, distributing medicines, and offering critical medical support in areas where normal healthcare systems have been severely disrupted.

“This initiative embodies the spirit of AIIMS’ Trinity Mission — patient care, education, and research — with service to humanity at its heart,” an AIIMS spokesperson said. “Our team is committed to standing by the people of Punjab during this humanitarian crisis.”
