AIIMS New Delhi Receives 100 Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines from HCLFoundation on International Women’s Day

Marking the occasion of International Women’s Day, HCLFoundation donated 100 sanitary napkin vending machines to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, in an initiative aimed at improving menstrual hygiene accessibility within the hospital campus.

The vending machines were formally inaugurated by Prof. M. Srinivas, Director of AIIMS New Delhi; Dr. Nirupam Madan, Medical Superintendent; and Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, Senior Vice President, Global CSR at HCLTech and Director of HCLFoundation.

The initiative seeks to ensure easy and affordable access to sanitary products for women visiting or working at the institute, including patients, attendants, students, and healthcare staff. By installing the machines across key locations within the AIIMS campus, the foundation aims to support menstrual hygiene management and promote awareness about women’s health.

Speaking during the inauguration, representatives highlighted that the installation of the vending machines is part of HCLFoundation’s broader commitment to health, hygiene, and women’s empowerment. The move is expected to benefit thousands of women who rely on the medical institute for healthcare services every day.

International Women’s Day is observed annually on March 8 to celebrate women’s achievements and raise awareness about gender equality and women’s rights across the world.
