It was an evening filled with applause, emotion and quiet inspiration as around twenty specially abled children were honoured at the Tahir Programme in Delhi, an event that turned the spotlight firmly on ability rather than disability. Organised by the Akhil Bhartiya Viklang Vidhwa Vridha Seva Samiti, the programme set out with a simple but powerful goal — to motivate children born with disabilities and remind society of their immense potential.

What followed was nothing short of heart-warming. Children living with neurological disorders and physical deformities confidently took to the stage, dancing with infectious energy and grace. Their performances, indistinguishable in spirit from those of any other child, drew loud cheers and standing ovations from the audience.

The event was graced by several prominent personalities, including Mr Sunheri Lal Yadav, Dr Rakesh Raman Jha, former MP and former Uttar Pradesh Minister D.P. Yadav, and priest Rajeshwaranand, all of whom praised the courage and determination of the young performers. Local MLA Veer Singh Dinghan, along with corporators Shivani Panchal and Veer Singh Panwar, Journalist Arun Sharma and dental surgeon Dr Chandradeep Chandra were also present, lending their support and encouragement to the children and their families.

Speaking at the event, the guests emphasised the importance of creating inclusive spaces where specially abled children are encouraged to express themselves freely and pursue their talents without fear or hesitation. They noted that platforms like this not only boost the confidence of children but also help change mindsets within the community.

Parents in attendance were visibly moved, many calling the programme a source of renewed hope and strength. Organisers said the Tahir Programme was a reminder that with the right support, empathy and opportunities, specially abled children can shine just as brightly as anyone else.
