“Cancer Can Be Defeated!” Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy Launches Inspiring Survivor Stories at Apollo Hospitals
In a heartwarming event at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy joined the launch of the book “मैंने कैंसर को जीत लिया (I Am a Cancer Survivor)”, authored by Dr. Palkonda Vijay Anand Reddy, Director of the Apollo Cancer Center, Hyderabad. The book tells the extraordinary stories of 108 cancer survivors, celebrating courage, perseverance, and the triumph of hope over despair.
Originally written in English, the book has now been translated into Hindi and Telugu, ensuring these powerful stories reach patients and families across India.
Speaking at the launch, Minister G. Kishan Reddy said, “This book is a beacon of hope and resilience. Each story is a testament to the human spirit and the importance of early detection and awareness. Dr. Vijay Anand Reddy’s work will inspire countless patients and families to believe—cancer can be defeated.”
Dr. Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals, added, “Cancer care is not just about treatment—it’s about restoring faith, strength, and dignity. This book reflects the resilience of survivors and the compassionate care Apollo strives to provide. Every story here reminds us that hope is always possible.”

Speaking about his motivation for the book, Dr. Vijay Anand Reddy said, “I wanted to capture the unwavering determination of survivors who chose courage over fear. Cancer is not the end—it’s a battle that can be won with timely care, positivity, and hope. I am confident this book will encourage newly diagnosed patients to face their journey bravely.”
The launch saw participation from senior doctors, survivors, hospital leadership, and media representatives, all applauding the initiative for humanizing cancer care and spreading a powerful message of strength and optimism.
