Doctors Association Jammu Strongly Condemns Delhi Blast, Calls for Swift Probe

The Doctors Association Jammu (DAJ) has issued a sharp condemnation of the recent terrorist attack in Delhi, expressing deep shock over the alleged involvement of individuals from the medical community. The association said the incident has shaken the medical fraternity and stands as a grim reminder of the threats faced by the nation.

In a statement released on Friday, DAJ President Dr. Balvinder Singh said the medical community in Jammu stands firmly with the victims of what he described as a “cowardly” and “dastardly” attack. He conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, emphasising that the entire fraternity shares the nation’s grief.

Reacting to reports that some doctors may be among the accused, the association termed it a severe “betrayal of the Hippocratic Oath” and a “stain on the noble medical profession.” The DAJ stressed that the profession is grounded in saving lives and serving humanity, and that anyone—regardless of qualifications—who chooses violence forfeits the moral right to be called a healer.

“We are appalled that persons trained to preserve life could allegedly be involved in its destruction,” the statement noted

The association urged investigating agencies to conduct a thorough and speedy probe. It reiterated its faith in the judicial system and demanded the strictest punishment for the perpetrators if the allegations are proven.

“There can be no tolerance for anti-national activities,” the association said, adding that the safety and integrity of the nation must remain paramount.

Reaffirming its commitment to peace, DAJ also appealed to the public and its members to remain vigilant and united against forces attempting to disrupt national harmony.
