Dr. Akhilandeswari Prasad Appointed Director of RML Hospital, Eyes Patient-Centric Healthcare Reforms

Dr. Akhilandeswari Prasad, a senior radiologist and noted medical academician, has been appointed as the Director of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. With nearly three decades of experience in healthcare, administration, and medical education, she is expected to lead the institution with a strong focus on patient care, modernization, and academic excellence.


An MBBS Gold Medalist from Lady Hardinge Medical College and MD in Radiodiagnosis from RML Hospital, Dr. Prasad has long been associated with DR. RML Hospital and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences in several key academic and administrative roles, including serving as the Head of the Department of Radiodiagnosis.

As the newly appointed Director, Dr. Prasad’s vision revolves around strengthening patient-focused healthcare and building a more efficient, technology-driven medical system.

Her immediate priorities include ensuring uninterrupted healthcare services, operationalizing the Super Specialty Block to increase patient capacity, and modernizing hospital infrastructure. She is also working towards accelerating digital transformation through integrated and paperless healthcare systems to improve efficiency and patient experience.

Apart from healthcare delivery, Dr. Prasad is committed to enhancing the institution’s academic environment by improving teaching infrastructure, encouraging quality research, and increasing clinical exposure for students. She also aims to support the development of the proposed medical college.
