Duroflex Launches Airboost Series, Unveils Next Generation of Sleep Technology in India

Duroflex, one of India’s leading sleep and comfort solutions brands, has introduced the Airboost Series, a new sleep technology that aims to redefine how mattresses are designed for Indian conditions. Positioned as a sleep science-led material innovation, Airboost™ marks a departure from traditional mattress categories dominated by foam density, coir firmness, and spring counts.

At the core of the new series is Duroflex’s proprietary Airboost™ material, built with an open matrix fibre structure that offers three times higher breathability. The design enables continuous airflow from all directions, helping dissipate heat effectively—an important factor for sleep quality in India’s hot and humid climate.

Engineered to adapt closely to the human body, Airboost™ features over one lakh independent micro-support points that respond to body shape and movement during sleep. This hyper-localised support helps distribute pressure evenly, maintaining spinal alignment while reducing stress on key areas such as the shoulders, hips, and lower back.

According to the company, the Airboost™ mattress has been tested against several branded mattresses available in the Indian market and has received exclusive approvals from the National Health Authority (NHA) for supporting spinal health and the Indian Society for Sleep Research (ISSR) for enabling enhanced N3 sleep, also known as Slow Wave Sleep. This stage of sleep is associated with physical recovery, tissue repair, and immune system strengthening.

“With demanding work schedules, rising lifestyle stress, and environmental challenges, sleep quality in India is increasingly compromised,” the company said in a statement. Airboost™ is designed to address three core requirements for restorative sleep—postural adaptation, temperature regulation, and overnight energy restoration—simultaneously.

Speaking on the launch, Sridhar Balakrishnan, CEO, Duroflex Limited, said the innovation builds on the brand’s long-standing consumer-first approach. “Sleep is one of the most important health investments, yet material innovation in the mattress segment was long overdue. Airboost™, our Make-in-India technology, works with the body’s natural physiology to reduce effort in regulating temperature, maintaining posture, and re-energising during the night,” he said.

Balakrishnan added that the company’s newly operational manufacturing facility in Hosur will support the scale-up of the Airboost™ range, which is expected to resonate with consumers seeking deeper and more restorative sleep.

Medical experts have also highlighted the role of sleep surfaces in long-term health. Dr. Manan Vora, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Sports Doctor, said that poor sleep support often contributes to spinal strain, muscle fatigue, and delayed recovery. “A mattress should maintain neutral spinal alignment throughout the night. Adaptive support systems like Airboost™ help distribute body weight evenly, reduce pressure points, and limit heat build-up, enabling deeper and more uninterrupted sleep,” he said.

Developed as part of Duroflex’s long-term focus on sleep science and material innovation, the Airboost™ Series reflects a broader shift in the mattress industry toward evidence-based design. As research continues to link sleep quality with long-term health outcomes, materials that can measurably improve sleep architecture are gaining greater importance.

The Airboost range, available under the Duropedic portfolio, will be offered in multiple variants with different comfort configurations and thickness options, catering to diverse sleep preferences.
