Empowering Health: AIIMS Ballabgarh Brings Preventive Care to Villages
In a move to bring healthcare closer to the community, AIIMS Ballabgarh recently organised a series of health camps under the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan, reaching residents across Ballabgarh and neighbouring villages. The initiative focused on promoting preventive healthcare, healthier lifestyles, and awareness among women and families.
Resident doctors, interns, nurses, and health workers joined forces to conduct the camps at AIIMS Ballabgarh Hospital, PHC Chhainsa, PHC Dayalpur, and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Jawan and Junheda villages. Over 1,600 people participated, with 541 men and 1,065 women availing various health services at AIIMS Ballabgarh alone. The outreach extended to 210 beneficiaries at PHC Chhainsa, 365 at PHC Dayalpur, 50 at Jawan, and 55 at Junheda.
Visitors received a wide range of services, including screenings for diabetes, hypertension, and anaemia, along with personalised counselling on diet, physical activity, and healthier lifestyle choices. Pregnant women attended sessions on nutrition, while new mothers received breastfeeding guidance at the Ballabgarh nutrition clinic. In addition, awareness talks on HIV/AIDS prevention reached those visiting the hospital.
“Health is not just about treating illness—it’s about empowering families with knowledge and tools to live healthier lives,” said a senior doctor at AIIMS Ballabgarh. “Through these camps, we are bringing care and education directly to the people, especially women and children who are often the most vulnerable.”
