What does 25 years of transformation in Indian healthcare look like — and where do we go from here? That’s the big question that will take center stage at FICCI HEAL 2025, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry’s flagship healthcare conference, returning for its 19th edition on October 8-9 in New Delhi.

Backed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and NITI Aayog, the two-day event will bring together some of the country’s most influential healthcare voices, from policymakers and hospital leaders to innovators and global experts. Union Health Minister J P Nadda will open the dialogue, while NITI Aayog’s Prof (Dr) V K Paul will share his vision for “Revolutionizing Care through AI.”

This year’s theme, “Care@25 – Defining Moments in Healthcare,” isn’t just about celebrating milestones — it’s about asking tough questions on what comes next. From Ayushman Bharat to Health and Wellness Centres, from indigenous manufacturing to AI-powered diagnostics, the conference will explore how India can build a future-ready healthcare system that’s inclusive, innovative, and globally benchmarked.

Dr Harsh Mahajan, Chair of the FICCI Health Services Committee, summed it up well: “In the past 25 years, India has moved from scarcity to scale. Now, the next 25 years must be about innovation, equity, and global leadership.”

And it’s not just about policy. Expect some inspiring stories too. The opening plenary, “India’s Healthcare Odyssey: Legacy, Leadership & the Road to Viksit Bharat,” will feature stalwarts like Dr Prathap C Reddy and Brig (Hony) Dr Arvind Lal, alongside next-gen leaders such as Gautam Khanna and Dr Upasana Arora, who are redefining what healthcare in 2047 could look like.

The stage will also go global. Huma Therapeutics’ CEO Dan Vahdat will share insights on digital health, while Roche Pharma India’s Rajji Mehdwan will talk about equitable access to medicines. Experts from BRICS countries will dive into how economies like ours can fight non-communicable diseases with innovation and collaboration.

Of course, the sessions are where the real action happens — from “Hospitals of the Future” and “True Accountable Care” to “Therapeutics through Technology” and “Transforming Primary Healthcare for Bharat.” Expect frank conversations, bold ideas, and plenty of debate on how to strike the right balance between efficiency, quality, and accessibility.

For Dr Anupam Sibal, Co-Chair of the FICCI Health Services Committee, the moment couldn’t be more critical. “India’s healthcare market is booming, but growth alone isn’t enough. The real challenge is making sure it translates into better outcomes and smarter delivery models. Technology, AI, and workforce expansion will be key,” he said.

In many ways, FICCI HEAL 2025 will feel like both a mirror and a crystal ball — a reflection of how far India has come, and a glimpse into the healthcare ecosystem it dreams of building by 2047.
