Immuneel Ties Up with Impact Guru, CarePal to Ease Financial Access to CAR T-Cell Therapy in India
In a significant step towards making advanced cancer care more accessible in India, Immuneel Therapeutics has announced strategic partnerships with healthcare crowdfunding platform Impact Guru and healthcare-focused lending marketplace CarePal Money. The collaboration seeks to address one of the most persistent barriers in modern oncology—affordability—by enabling patients from diverse socio-economic backgrounds to access life-saving CAR T-cell therapy.
CAR T-cell therapy, among the most advanced and personalised treatments available globally for certain blood cancers, has shown transformative outcomes for patients with relapsed or refractory disease. However, despite its promise, access to the therapy in India has remained limited due to high upfront costs and a lack of structured financing mechanisms. Immuneel’s integrated access model aims to bridge this gap by combining cutting-edge clinical innovation with comprehensive financial support.
Under the partnership, Impact Guru will empower patients and their families to raise funds through its digital crowdfunding platform, leveraging community-driven donation campaigns and awareness initiatives. With a donor network exceeding 50 lakh contributors, the platform is expected to mobilise timely financial support for patients navigating costly cancer treatments. Complementing this, CarePal Money will provide structured credit solutions by connecting eligible patients to its network of Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) partners, offering customised medical loans and financing options tailored to individual needs.
Immuneel Therapeutics will continue to deliver globally benchmarked CAR T-cell therapies within India while coordinating closely with both financial partners to ensure that funding support aligns seamlessly with clinical care timelines.
Commenting on the development, Amit Mookim, Board Director and Chief Executive Officer of Immuneel Therapeutics, said that scientific breakthroughs alone are not enough to transform cancer care. He emphasised that real impact is achieved only when advanced therapies reach patients irrespective of their financial circumstances. According to him, the partnerships are aimed at building a holistic access ecosystem that integrates clinical excellence with financial enablement, in line with India’s broader ambitions in advanced therapeutics and universal health coverage.
Piyush Jain, Co-Founder and CEO of CarePal Group and Impact Guru, highlighted the need for inclusive financing models to support healthcare innovation. He noted that the collaboration creates a dual pathway for patients—allowing them to mobilise community support through crowdfunding while also accessing structured credit—offering both flexibility and financial security at a critical juncture in their treatment journey.
Echoing this sentiment, Sahil Lakshmanan, Chief Business Officer of CarePal Money, said that as medical innovation advances, healthcare financing must evolve in parallel. He added that by institutionalising credit access for advanced therapies through NBFC partnerships, the initiative aims to reduce the financial shock experienced by families and support continuity of care.
The collaboration is being seen as a scalable access framework for emerging markets, where rapid medical advancements must be matched with sustainable and inclusive financing solutions. By integrating advanced cell and gene therapies with digital crowdfunding and structured healthcare lending, the partners aim to complement public health systems, insurance coverage, and future reimbursement pathways.
As CAR T-cell therapy becomes an increasingly integral part of modern oncology, the initiative signals a shift towards ecosystem-led healthcare delivery—where innovation, financing, and policy objectives converge to improve patient outcomes at scale.
