The third edition of the India-Africa Business Summit kicked off at the prestigious Grand Heritage Resorts, Pune, bringing together entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore new avenues not just for trade and investment, but also for healthcare innovation and medical collaboration. Hosted by the Global India Business Forum (GIBF), the summit offered a platform to discuss opportunities in sectors ranging from agriculture and energy to medical technology, healthcare services, and pharmaceuticals.

The summit attracted over 800 Indian companies and more than 100 delegates from African nations, creating a vibrant environment for business networking and partnerships. Adding to the event’s prominence, Dr. Jeannot Kant Larose, Education Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo, graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Expanding Business and Healthcare Ties

During the summit, several MoUs were signed between Indian and African companies, covering sectors such as agriculture, food processing, mining, solar energy, and healthcare technology. These collaborations are expected to open doors for Indian SMEs to work with African counterparts on projects including medical devices, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, and health infrastructure solutions.

Dr. Jitendra Joshi, President of GIBF, emphasized, “This summit has created a strong bridge of opportunities between India and Africa, enabling businesses to explore untapped potential—including in the critical area of healthcare.” GIBF Secretary General Dipali Gadkari thanked all delegates for contributing to the summit’s success.

Showcasing Africa’s Potential

Representatives from 25 African countries—including South Africa, Angola, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Kenya, Namibia, Botswana, Cameroon, Congo, Tunisia, Algeria, Niger, Ghana, Egypt, Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda—presented investment and trade opportunities. Many highlighted the growing demand for affordable healthcare solutions, medical technology, and training collaborations, signaling significant prospects for Indian companies specializing in healthcare and wellness.

With strong MoU signings, insightful discussions, and a focus on healthcare innovation alongside traditional trade sectors, the India-Africa Business Summit 2025 has set the stage for a new era of collaboration that promises growth, improved healthcare access, and strengthened ties between the two regions.
