On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, residents of Jasola DDA Society Pocket 10B in South-East Delhi observed Seva Pakhwada with a unique blend of cleanliness and greenery. The initiative, held on Sunday, combined a large-scale sanitation campaign with a tree plantation drive, drawing enthusiastic participation from people of all age groups.

The event highlighted the message that cleanliness and greenery go hand in hand in creating a healthier society. Residents, community leaders, and officials joined hands to transform the occasion into a festival of sanitation and environmental awareness.

Karan Shankar Mani, RWA President and Supreme Court advocate, emphasized that cleanliness is not just about aesthetics but the foundation of healthy living.

"A clean environment protects us from diseases, while trees reduce pollution and provide pure air. Cleanliness and greenery together can build a healthy, pollution-free society. This responsibility lies not only with the government but with every citizen,” he said.

Municipal Councillor Neetu Manish Chaudhary and BJP leader Manish Chaudhary, who led the campaign, echoed the sentiment.“

Seva Pakhwada, on the occasion of Modi ji’s birthday, reminds us that Swachh Bharat is not just a scheme but a way of life. If we adopt cleanliness and tree plantation in our daily routine, we can gift a healthier, more beautiful India to the next generation,” they remarked.

Local Police Station In-Charge Jeet Singh underlined the link between a clean environment and community safety.“ A clean and green locality not only benefits health but also fosters a safer society. Dirt and pollution often become the breeding ground for both diseases and crime,” he said.

Presiding over the programme, Shiv Shankar Sharma added:“ When we keep our homes and surroundings clean and actively plant trees, building a clean and green nation becomes an achievable goal.”

The event saw the participation of officials from the DDA, MCD, and Horticulture Department, alongside society residents. Together, they planted dozens of saplings and carried out an extensive cleanliness drive. From children to senior citizens, the collective efforts turned the campaign into a vibrant celebration of Swachhta.
