Global pharma major ranks among top 750 firms worldwide, emerges as one of only 16 Indian companies recognised for ESG excellence

Global pharmaceutical major Lupin Limited has earned a place on TIME and Statista's World's Most Sustainable Companies 2026 list for the first time, securing global recognition for its commitment to environmental sustainability, responsible business practices, strong corporate governance, and positive social impact.

Lupin was ranked 318th among 750 companies selected from more than 5,000 of the world's largest and most influential organisations. The prestigious global ranking evaluated companies across more than 20 sustainability indicators, including environmental and social performance, sustainability commitments, governance standards, transparency in reporting, and independent sustainability ratings.

Notably, Lupin is among only 16 Indian companies to feature in this year's global sustainability rankings, highlighting the growing international recognition of Indian businesses for their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.

Commenting on the achievement, Ramesh Swaminathan, Executive Director, Global Chief Financial Officer, Head of IT and API Plus Strategic Business Unit at Lupin, said the recognition reflects the company's long-term commitment to embedding sustainability into every aspect of its operations.

The latest honour builds on Lupin's strong sustainability track record. The company has received CDP's highest 'A' Leadership rating for both Climate Change and Water Security, demonstrating its commitment to environmental stewardship. It also achieved an impressive S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) score of 91 in 2025, reinforcing its position among global leaders in sustainable business practices.

The inclusion in TIME's prestigious sustainability ranking further strengthens Lupin's reputation as a pharmaceutical company focused not only on healthcare innovation but also on responsible growth and long-term environmental and social impact.
