Ajmer witnessed a high-energy afternoon on Friday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi rolled out a nationwide HPV vaccination campaign and unveiled development projects worth nearly ₹17,000 crore, blending public health, infrastructure and employment into a single, high-impact event.

Addressing a large gathering, the Prime Minister framed the day as both symbolic and practical — symbolic because the HPV vaccination drive began from Rajasthan, and practical because thousands of crores worth of projects were either inaugurated or set into motion.

A Health Push Focused on Women

At the heart of the event was the launch of the nationwide Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign — a major preventive step against cervical cancer. Modi described the campaign as a decisive move to strengthen “Nari Shakti,” underlining that women’s health is central to family and national wellbeing.

“When a mother falls ill, the entire household feels unsettled. If she remains healthy, the family stands strong in every crisis,” he said, connecting public health policy to everyday life.

The nationwide rollout aims to make preventive vaccination more accessible to adolescent girls, marking one of the most significant public health interventions in recent years.

Big-Ticket Development Projects

Alongside the health announcement, projects worth approximately ₹17,000 crore were inaugurated or had their foundation stones laid. These span roads, electricity, water supply, health facilities and educational infrastructure.

Modi described the developments as part of Rajasthan’s “double-engine” momentum — referring to the alignment between the Centre and the state government — and said the focus is on accelerating growth while creating employment opportunities for the youth.

Improved road, rail and air connectivity, he noted, is not just about convenience but about economic impact. Tourism in Ajmer and Pushkar, for example, stands to benefit, boosting incomes for shopkeepers, artisans and transport operators. Infrastructure growth linked to the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, he added, is steadily positioning Rajasthan as a hub for investment and industry.

Water, Farmers and Long-Term Planning

Turning to farmers’ concerns, the Prime Minister highlighted river-linking initiatives, including the modified Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal and Yamuna-Rajasthan projects. These, he said, are designed to bring more reliable irrigation to districts such as Jhalawar, Baran, Kota and Bundi — areas where water scarcity has long shaped agricultural challenges.

Solar Energy as a Game-Changer

Rajasthan’s abundant sunlight also featured prominently in the speech. Under the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, households receive financial assistance to install rooftop solar panels. According to the Prime Minister, more than 1.25 lakh families in Rajasthan have already signed up, with many seeing electricity bills fall close to zero.

“There is no shortage of sunlight in Rajasthan. This very sunshine is becoming a source of savings and income for the common man,” he said, positioning renewable energy as both an environmental and economic reform.

Jobs for the Youth

The event also carried a strong employment message. Appointment letters were handed over to more than 21,000 new recruits, marking what Modi described as a new chapter for Rajasthan’s youth.

Throughout the address, the Prime Minister returned to a central theme: development must be holistic — combining healthcare, infrastructure, water security, renewable energy and jobs.

As the programme concluded, he reiterated the broader vision of “Developed India through Developed Rajasthan,” presenting the day’s announcements as steps toward a larger transformation story — one that connects local progress in Ajmer to national ambitions.
