In a powerful show of solidarity and awareness, young fertility specialists from across India came together for the "Walk for Hope" walkathon at YUVA ISAR 2026 in Gurugram, aiming to spark conversations around infertility, reproductive health, and compassionate fertility care.

Organised under the aegis of YUVA ISAR 2026, the event brought together infertility specialists, reproductive medicine experts, embryologists, academicians, healthcare professionals, and students from different parts of the country. The walkathon served as a platform to highlight the emotional, social, and medical challenges associated with infertility while promoting awareness and support for affected couples.

The initiative was conducted under the guidance of ISAR President Dr. Sunita Tandulwadkar and was attended by several prominent experts in reproductive medicine, including Dr. Keshav Malhotra, Secretary Dr. Ashish Kale, Dr. Seema Prakash, Dr. Gunjan, and Dr. Madhuri Patil, along with former presidents and senior members of the organization. BJP leader and Delhi Mahila Aayog President Dr. Neelam Lekhi graced the event as the chief guest.

The walkathon was coordinated by Dr. Poonam Goyal, Dr. Ashwini Kale, and Dr. Neharika Malhotra, who emphasized the need to bring infertility discussions into the mainstream and create a more supportive environment for couples seeking treatment.

With the theme "Hope in Every Step," participants marched together wearing symbolic pink and blue caps and carrying placards carrying messages of fertility awareness. The venue was decorated in matching colours, symbolizing hope, life, and new beginnings.

Organizers said the walkathon was more than just a ceremonial march. It was designed as a movement to encourage open conversations about infertility, challenge long-standing myths and stigma, and promote ethical and evidence-based fertility care. The event also highlighted the importance of emotional support and holistic care for couples navigating fertility challenges.

A key moment of the programme was the "Walk for Hope Oath," during which fertility specialists collectively pledged to uphold ethical, transparent, compassionate, and patient-centred infertility practices.

According to the organizers, infertility remains a deeply personal issue that often carries social stigma and emotional distress. Through this initiative, young specialists sought to stand alongside patients and families, offering not only medical expertise but also empathy and encouragement.

As delegates, clinicians, embryologists, students, and healthcare leaders joined the march, the event sent a strong message that infertility awareness is not only a medical concern but also a social responsibility. The organizers expressed hope that the movement would inspire greater understanding, reduce stigma, and strengthen support systems for millions of aspiring parents across the country.

The "Walk for Hope" concluded with a shared commitment from participants to continue spreading awareness and advancing ethical fertility care, reinforcing the belief that every step taken today can bring hope to countless families tomorrow.
