RML hospital starts CGHS OPD in Orthopedics

Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) patients and general people over 60 years of age will now be able to walk into RML Hospital for consultation with doctors in the Orthopedics Department at the new out-patient department (OPD).

On January 1, 2020, the hospital's OPD clinic started providing consultations to the CGHS patients and elderly in the routine time with doctors from orthopaedics deartment.

The new OPD ensures the CGHS patients and the elderly do not have to stand in queues for hours, and have easier access to healthcare services, said Dr Meenakshi Bhardwaj, medical superintendent of the hospital.

Dr Bhardwaj said, “The OPD will function on daily basis which was combined earlier.”

Dr Ajay Shukla , HOD, Orthopedics Department, informed that RML hospital is an apex centre for CGHS patients and more than half the patients are of old age.

He clarified, “Because of this OPD there is no waiting period for senior citizens and CGHS patients.”

Dr Bhardwaj also informed that the new shelter house is also planned and will be functional in view of weather extremities like cold and rains outside OPD areas.
