BMC collects Rs 75.55 crore fine for COVID violation

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has collected more than Rs 75.55 crore fine from people for not wearing face masks to protect them from COVID 19 so far.

It may be noted that Mumbai has been one of the worst-hit COVID cities in the country. Not wearing masks have been one of the major issue and violation of COVID protocols have been one of the major causes of spread of the deadly infection.

Mumbai, also known as India’s financial capital, has Asia’s largest slum Dharavai, which reported a major chunk of COVID cases. However, due to vaccination and awareness the situation has improved drastically. The COVID situation is now better.

As on November 25, 2021, the total COVID caseload in Maharashtra stands at 66,32,257.
