Freedom from Diabetes (FFD), an organisation engaged in reversing diabetes using multi-disciplinary interventions, is launching a mega awareness drive to educate, support and inspire diabetics across the world to lead healthier lives as well as to try and achieve its reversal on the occasion of World Diabetes Day, a statement released by the organisation read.
The purpose of this mega awareness drive is to educate, support and inspire diabetics across the world to lead healthier lives as well as to try and achieve its reversal, it added.
FDD will organise an online interactive session between its founder Dr Pramod Tripathi and Dr B.M. Hegde, eminent diabetes reversal specialist in the country.
“As per the latest edition of the IDF Diabetes Atlas, one in ten adults are affected by diabetes and four in five adults with diabetes live in low and middle-income countries,” Dr Tripathi said.
“Over the last seven years, FFD has helped over 11,000 individuals reverse their diabetes and we are on a mission to free 100,000 diabetics by 2025,” he added.
“On World Diabetes Day, FFD will launch ‘Serve A Smoothie’ campaign to raise awareness, educate and eradicate myths on diabetes,” he further added.
The campaign seeks to promote healthy eating choices along with raising confidence among patients that it is possible to reverse diabetes through experience sharing by former diabetics, the statement said.
The campaign will culminate on November 30, 2021, with Dr Tripathi holding a live session to address the various aspects of diabetes and to take questions from participants, it further added.
