Lady Hardinge Medical College doctor Dr Abhishek Shankar is going to be the first Indian to beg the prestigious Advovacy Award 2021 by International Gynecological Cancer Society (IGCS).

Dr Shankar is an Assistant Professor in Department of Oncology at Delhi’s Lady Hardinge Medical College and Associated Hospitals.

“I am humbled to receive the Distinguished Advocacy Award 2021 by the prestigious International Gynecological Cancer Society (IGCS). I feel happy to be the first Indian to receive this since its inception. This award will be presented during the inaugural function of the Annual Conference of IGCS in September 2021 in Rome, Italy,” Dr. Shankar informed.

The award  recognises advocates and advocacy organisations that provide active, dedicated service to patients, survivors, families, and caregivers—on a local, regional, or international level—and persistently engage in the fight against gynecologic and other cancers.
