The patient should not only get the treatment but should be satisfied when discharged from the hospital, the Indian Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said.

Speaking at the 66th Foundation Day of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on September 25, 2021, the health minister said that the country’s health budget has surged to Rs 2.40 lakh crore under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The minister also cited that it was not a tradition to combine health and development in the country, however, the Indian Prime Minister did it.

“It was not a tradition in the country to combine health and development but PM Modi did it with his vision of Healthy India...We increased the health budget to Rs 2.40 lakh crores,” Mandaviya said.

He pointed out that the AIIMS is the ‘lighthouse’ of the health sector, and has done tremendous work in terms of healthcare and research, adding, “People have faith in it, which is why state-wise demands were also raised...Today inauguration work of 22 AIIMS is underway.”

Union Minister of State (MoS) for Health, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, and AIIMS director Dr. Randeep Guleria were also present at the event.

“We’re involved in training and capacity-building for COVID-19 in case there is a third wave. In continuation of our achievements in the last three years, AIIMS Delhi has again been ranked as No. 1 Medical College in the country,” Dr. Guleria said.
