Technical staff working in different departments of Delhi-AIIMS have sought a uniform duty of four hours with personal protection kits (PPE) in Covid areas.

Unity of Allied Healthcare Professionals, Delhi-AIIMS, in a letter, has urged director Dr Randeep Guleria to implement uniform duty for four hours with PPE in Covid wards.

The union has stated that wearing of PPE is a big task and working with PPE is really tough. They added that while working wearing PPE many staff members have got dehydrated and have also fainted due to which they have urged the director to implement uniform duty rules.

They have demanded rotation policy of OT technical staff between Covid and non-Covid areas. Their demands also include provision of separate and spacious room for technical staff in each area such as emergency, all ICUs, wards, OTs and labs. They said that female technical staff should have separate room for quarantine after Covid duties.
