Veteran Indian cricketer Kapil Dev has got the first dose of Ccorona vaccine at Fortis Hospital in Okhla, Delhi, on March 3, 2021. The 1983-world cup winning captain had suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized in the hospital in October 2020. He had undergone an emergency coronary angioplasty at the hospital.

Many more public figures, including Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan; Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Singh; Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan; Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and his wife Lakshmi Puri also took the vaccines at different health facilities on March 3, 2021.
