Dr Harsh Vardhan assures URDA, Safdarjung docs of early solution to violence

Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has assured members of Resident Doctors Association, Safdarjung Hospital, and Untied RDA-India, for an early solution on resolving issues of violence due to which doctors across India have gone on strike.

Dr Vardhan assured a delegation headed by Dr Prashant Thakur, President, RDA-Safdarjung, that he will personally spoke to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee to resolve that situation where doctors have been on strike for over five days due to assault on their colleagues.  

Dr Thakur told DTMT that supply of water has been stopped in the hostel of NRS Medical College which has resulted in a major problem for resident doctors. “If they come out from their hostels, they will be again assaulted by the people who are standing outside the college,” said Dr Thakur.

Dr Thakur added that he had apprised Dr Vardhan of this stoppage of water supply.“ Dr Vardhan has assured the full security and said that he will write a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah to improve the law and order situation in West Bengal, said Dr Thakur.
