Max Hospital, Fujifilm to train doctors in cancer detection

Witnessing the scarcity of radiologists and limited experts in breast cancer diagnostics across Asia and in India, Fujifilm India and Max Healthcare have joined hands to train doctors in advanced diagnostics and spread awareness about early detection of breast cancer.

In the venture, Fujifilm has installed 50 micron digital mammography machines at Max Healthcare for easy and accurate detection of cancer, as per a joint statement on October 15, 2019.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed by Director- Radiology Services, Max Super Specialty Hospital, Saket, New Delhi, Dr Bharat Aggarwal and MD Fujifilm India, Haruto Iwata.

Dr Aggarwal pointed out, “The primary goal for our collaboration with Fujifilm is to provide complete and innovative medical attention to breast cancer patients. The new cutting-edge Amulet Innovality will play a key role in our battle against breast cancer.”

Mr Iwata stated, “Our association with Max Hospital is a significant and collective step to fight cancer. With the increasing prevalence of breast cancer in the female populace, it is imperative for healthcare providers to deliver the best and precise early detection screening facilities that can help save lives.”

“We are making continuous attempts to create awareness among women on breast cancer and promoting campaigns such as the Pink Ribbon to encourage the early discovery of breast cancer,” he added.

Dr Harit Chaturvedi, chairman, Max Institute of Cancer Care, said, “The development of advanced technology in partnership with Fujifilm—Amulet Innovality with 50 micron resolution, would play a critical role in screening the healthy population. detecting cancer early and help clinicians deliver more tailored and effective treatment.”
