Wuhan evacuation: RML, Safdarjung medical staff get letters of appreciation

Six doctors and four nursing officers from RML Hospital and Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi have received special appreciation letters issued by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has handed over the letters of appreciation individually to the medical staff of both hospitals in Delhi who were part of the Wuhan evacuation operation on February 1 and 2 in two batches.

“Strength through diversity gets expression in the collective effort. This is how the bravery and commendable feat of the ten doctors and paramedic staff," the letter stated.

“The grit, determination and compassion displayed by the rescue team proves that the true test of character lies in adversity. In such a scenario, the evacuation of Indian citizens in distress has not only given relief to those rescued but has also reassured the Indian diaspora settled across the world that in time of crisis, the entire nation stands firmly united,” the letter stated.

“Your indefatigable effort inspires every citizen to serve the nation with dedication and commitment," it reads.

The PM’s letters were given to Dr Anand Vishal, Associated Professor of Medicine, Pulin Gupta, Professor of Internal Medicine, Dr Sanjeet Panesar, Assistant Professor, Community Medicine from Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and Dr Yogesh Chandra Porwal, Professor and Consultant, Internal Medicine, Dr Rupali Malik, Associate Professor of Internal Medicine from Safdarjung Hospital and Dr Sujata Arya, Public Health Specialist, Airport Health Organization, New Delhi. The nursing staff who got the letters are Manu Joseph, Rajnish Kumar, Ajo Jose, Nursing Officer, Sarath Prem, from Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
