Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address to the nation on March 24, has announced a nationwide lockdown for 21 days starting midnight. 

The attempt is to break the cycle of the spread of coronavirus by restricting everyone to where ever he or she is. 

Essential things like milk, bread, medicine, food etc will be available. 

The PM said that if this step is not taken in all seriousness, a very heavy price will have to be paid by the country.
