Corona cases have reached 41642 in Maharashtra, with an increase by 2345 cases in the last twenty four hours. As per Covid cases and deaths report released by the Maharashtra government on May 22, 2020,  the state has registered 64 deaths due to virus in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll due to the virus to 1454.

State capital Mumbai has been worst hit by the virus. A total of 25,500 cases of the virus have been reported and 882 people have succumbed to the deadly disease in the city so far. With this, the financial capital of India has become the city reporting the most cases and deaths due to the virus in the country.  

Pune has recorded 4207 Covid cases and 222 deaths. Thane has reported 2048 cases and 33 deaths due to the virus.
