As per the Indian Health Ministry data on July 9, 2020, India reported 26502 corona cases in the past 24 hours -- the highest ever single day spike in cases of the disease so far in the country. The total number of cases in the country so far now stands at 793802.

The deadly disease killed 475 people in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of corona deaths to 21604. 495513 people have recovered from the virus while 276685 are active cases of the virus.
