Cases of coronavirus have increased rapidly in the last one month in Andhra Pradesh. On June 30, 2020, a total of 14,595  cases of coronavirus were reported which went up to 140933 on July 31, 2020, just about a ten fold increase in cases in the past one month.

The southern state has overtaken Delhi and now has the highest load of virus cases after Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. But Andhra Pradesh’s rise on the Covid graph has been much more dramatic, making it the fastest growing state for two weeks now.

In the past 24 hours, the state reported 10,376 cases of the virus. This is the third straight day when the state recorded more than 10,000 cases. 1349 people have succumbed to the virus so far in the state.

It is understood that more cases are being reported due to increase in testing.

As per the data of July 31, 2020, over the past two days, a record number of 1,40,652 samples were tested in the state, of which 20,260 were positive and the overall infection positivity rate shot up to 6.91 per cent.
