UP: Docs, nurses to be trained in handling ventilators

With the number of Covid-19 cases on the rise, the chief medical officer, Lalitpur, in Uttar Pradesh. is not limiting itself to procuring six new ventilators, but is also taking measures to equip its doctors and nurses to use them.

On Friday, the hospital sent two doctors and three nurses to Jhansi District Hospital for one day training on how to use a ventilator, and treat and care for patients who are on ventilator.

The CMO-Jhansi has been roped in to train Dr Navneet Kumar and Dr Shashank Sahu both medical officers, Rita Singh and Veronika Denial, both staff nurses, in the Jhansi District Hospital on need basis.

“The government is considering widespread ventilator training to all doctors and nurses across the state. We have identified intensivists, pulmonologists and anesthesiologists. We have already given a list of doctors to train and receive training in the district hospital, Jhansi,” said CMO Lalitpur.
