In surprising move, the Delhi government has divested Dr RK Grover of the Directorship of Delhi State Cancer Institute (DSCI) in Dilshad Gardan. Dr BL Sherwal, Director, Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital, has been given additional charge of Director-DSCI.

Dr Grover has been credited with setting up Delhi Government’s only cancer institute and bringing advanced cancer treatment facilities to the institute. The decision of removal of Dr Grover came as a surprise to the staff of DSCI.

A DSCI employee who did not wish to be named said that Dr Grover did a fabulous job as director to make DSCI a world class cancer institute. “But everyone was shocked when an LG order came for his removal,” he added.

DSCI has various advanced cancer treatment facilities including nuclear medicine.
