In a boost to Ayurveda treatment, India’s Minister of State for AYUSH Sripad Yesso Naik has informed that all the 19 new AIIMS which are coming up will have Ayurveda departments.
Speaking at a 3rd Ayurveda Day event in New Delhi, the minister said that work is already on to start Ayurveda departments in one hundred ESIC hospitals.
The minister said that the union home ministry has also approved setting up Ayurveda departments in seven hospitals of BSF and other paramilitary forces.
The minister gave awards to Vd. SK Mishra, Prof. MS. Baghel and Dr Itoozhi Bhavadasan for their significant contribution for the promotion of Ayurveda. A cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh, along with citation are given to the awardees. The winners of the national level Ayurveda quiz conducted by All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi, were also conducted on the occasion.
The AYUSH ministry has launched AYUSH-Health Management Information System (A-HMIS), a dedicated software application for Electronic Health Record (EHR) for the AYUSH systems of healthcare.
This is expected to revolutionize the way Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy are practiced in the country, by inducting modern IT-solutions into these systems.
