ABHRAK BHASMA

Abhrak ash or bhasma is also known as Vajra, Ghan, and Vyom and is a potent immunomodulator drug. It exhibits hepatoprotective, anti-diabetic, anti-ageing, antihypertensive, antitubercular, and antihypertensive activity. Traditionally it is used to cure infertility and psychosomatic disorders. Abhrak Bhasma is a traditional Ayurvedic preparation derived from mica. It undergoes a meticulous purification process involving herbal extracts and is known for its therapeutic benefits in Ayurvedic medicine.

Indications

Indigestion, hepatitis, skin diseases, anaemia, breathlessness, cough, diabetes, fistula, hypothyroidism, hypertension, arrhythmia, atherosclerosis, angina, oligospermia, infertility, paralysis, and tuberculosis.


Dosage

-125-375 mg daily in divided doses before or after meals. Traditionally it is used along with honey, ghee, triphla churan, and fresh ginger guice.


Contra-Indications

-Pregnancy and breastfeeding -Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients -Use in children without medical supervision -Renal impairment, stomach ulcer, hyperparathyroidism, hypercalcemia and bleeding disorders.


Special Precautions

-Keep out of reach of children -Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight -Avoid overdose; strictly follow the prescribed dosage -Consult an Ayurvedic practitioner before use, especially if undergoing treatment for chronic conditions


Side Effects

-May cause gastric irritation in some individuals -Overdose may lead to toxicity symptoms -Abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, skin rashes, irritation, and redness.
