Acetaminophen, Phenylephrine Hcl, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Caffeine
This medication combines acetaminophen, a pain reliever and fever reducer; phenylephrine HCl, a nasal decongestant; chlorpheniramine maleate, an antihistamine; and caffeine, a mild stimulant.It is used to relieve symptoms associated with colds, allergies, sinus congestion, headaches, and mild to moderate pain.
The recommended dosage for adults and children over 12 years old is one tablet every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not exceed 6 tablets in 24 hours.
This medication is contraindicated in patients with severe hypertension, severe coronary artery disease, severe kidney disease, or severe liver disease. It should not be used in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of stopping MAOI therapy.
Use caution when driving or operating machinery, as this medication may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication, as it may increase the risk of liver damage.
Common side effects may include drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, nausea, and insomnia. Seek medical attention if you experience signs of an allergic reaction such as rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing.
