Adrenochrome Monosemicarbazone

It is believed to reduce capillary fragility, control oozing from raw surfaces & micro vessel bleeding.

Indications

Epistaxis, haematuria, retinal haemo-rrhage, secondary haemorrhage from wounds etc


Dosage

Oral: 1 to 2 tablets: 8th hourly Parenteral: 5 to 10mg 8th hourly I.M. Children: Half the adult dose


Contra-Indications

Hypersensitivity.


Special Precautions

Paediatrics:Use with caution. Pregnancy: Use only, if clearly indicated. Lactation: Use only, if clearly indicated. Elderly: Use with caution


Side Effects

Nausea, Rash, Stomach upset, Acute toxicity


Drug Interactions

May decrease the efficacy of adrenochrome monosemicarbazone with antihistamine.
