AJWAIN/ BISHOP'S WEED

Ajwain which is commonly known as Bishop weed is used in traditional medicinal systems in India, Iran and Afghanistan. It exhibits anthelmintic, analgesic, antitussive, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, laxative, antioxidant, antispasmodic, antihypertensive, antiplatelet and diuretic properties.

Indications

Abdominal discomfort, common cough and cold Chronic bronchitis, diabetes, migraine, arthritis, and diarrhoea.


Contra-Indications

Hepatic disorders, Renal impairment, Inflammatory bowel disease,


Side Effects

Mouth ulcer, stomach ulcer, constipation, and internal bleeding.


Drug Interactions

Antiplatelet drugs and antidiabetic drugs.
