Alcaftadine

It is a H1 histamine receptor antagonist indicated for the prevention of itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis.

Indications

Itching of eyes due to allergy.


Dosage

0.25% ophthalmic solution; instill topically one drop daily in each eye.


Contra-Indications

Hypersensitivity, do not put along while contact lens.


Special Precautions

Paediatric: Safety and efficacy not yet established. Pregnancy:Category B. Lactation:Not known if excreted in breast milk. Elderly: Use with caution.


Side Effects

Ocular irritation, ocular pain, ocular pruritus, pharyngitis, headache, lacrimation, ocular discharge, drowsiness.
