ALPHA-AMYLASE ENZYMES

It is a digestive enzyme secreted by the pancreas and salivary glands in the human body. It is also obtained from plants, animals, and microorganisms. It helps to hydrolyse the starch into glucose molecules and is used to treat a variety of digestive disorders.

Indications

Pancreatitis, cancer, tumour, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, loss of appetite, diabetes, and abdominal distension.


Contra-Indications

It is contraindicated in patients with glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, liver diseases, and kidney problems.


Special Precautions

It is recommended to consult a physician before using it during pregnancy and lactation. Alcohol consumption while taking alpha-amylase can cause severe toxicity.


Side Effects

Diarrhoea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue and abdominal discomfort.
