Ampicillin & Cloxacillin

Ampicillin is from the penicillin class of drugs and cloxacillin is a semisynthetic penicillin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. This combination of drugs is effective against gram-positive bacteria infections and gram-negative bacteria infections.

Indications

Meningitis, gonorrhoea, urinary tract infection (UTI), intra-abdominal infections, respiratory tract infections, arthritis, psoriasis, and cancer.


Contra-Indications

Hepatic diseases, renal disorder.


Special Precautions

It is suggested to consult a physician before using ampicillin and cloxacillin combinations during pregnancy and breastfeeding.


Side Effects

Abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and allergic reactions.


Drug Interactions

Contraceptive medications, Aspirin, Allopurinol.
