Antibiotics

Various broad spectrum antibiotics are used for conditions of infected otitis externa caused by gram positive & gram negative bacteria. Both oral and topical antibiotics may be used to stop discharge in chronic suppurative otitis media. Long term use of any antibiotic is to be avoided due to possibility cochlear damage. Discontinue treatment if sensitivity reaction develops.
