Dehydroemetine di-hcl

It is less toxic drug than its parent drug emetine.

Indications

Intestinal amoebiasis hepatic amoebiasis & other systemic disease due to E. histolytica.

Dosage

2 Tabs twice a day Children 1 tab twice daily.

Contra-Indications

Severe organic disease, pregnancy.

Special Precautions

Therapy should not be started less than 45 days after a previous course of emetine.

Side Effects

Nausea, vomiting diarrhoea weakness, myalgia, hypotension. Cardiac dysrhythmia pain at injection site.
