Guaiphenesin, Ambroxol Hcl, Terbutaline, Chlorpheniramine Maleate

This combination medication is used for the treatment of respiratory conditions such as cough, bronchitis, and asthma. It contains guaifenesin, which helps loosen mucus; ambroxol HCl, which acts as a mucolytic agent; terbutaline, a bronchodilator that helps open up airways; and chlorpheniramine maleate, an antihistamine that can relieve allergy symptoms.

Indications

-Cough associated with respiratory tract infections -Chronic bronchitis -Asthma with mucus production -Allergic rhinitis with cough and congestion


Dosage

-Follow the prescribing physician's instructions. -Typically, 1-2 teaspoons (5-10 mL) taken 2-3 times a day for adults. -Dosage may vary based on age, medical condition, and severity of symptoms.


Contra-Indications

-Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients -Patients with severe cardiovascular disorders -Patients with narrow-angle glaucoma -Pregnant or breastfeeding women without prior consultation


Special Precautions

-Monitor for signs of an allergic reaction. -Use with caution in patients with hypertension, diabetes, or hyperthyroidism. -Avoid use in patients with a history of peptic ulcers. -May cause drowsiness; caution when driving or operating heavy machinery.


Side Effects

Drug Interactions

-May interact with MAO inhibitors, beta-blockers, and other antihistamines. -Use caution when combined with other medications that affect heart rhythm.
