Dr Pratibha Singhi bags Sitaram Jaipuria Foundation Award for Excellence in Medicine

Dr. Pratibha Singhi, Professor and HoD, Pediatric Neurology, Amrita Hospital, Faridabad has been honoured with the prestigious Gayatri Jaipuria Award for Women’s Excellence in Medicine and Healthcare.


This award is in recognition of her extraordinary contributions towards developing the field of pediatric neurology and neurodevelopment in India and for working towards women empowerment in and out of the workplace.

Because of her extensive original research Dr Singhi has received many research awards and has been listed among the top 2% scientists in the world by a study done by Stanford University, USA. 

She went beyond the call of her duty to work for children with special needs, including cerebral palsy and autism.  She developed the system for home rehabilitation and trained thousands of professionals, para- professionals, and grassroots workers for early detection and early intention of children with developmental disabilities.

“I am both delighted and humbled, and extremely grateful to Sitaram Jaipuria Foundation. This recognition will give me further motivation to carry on my work with renewed enthusiasm and passion. This will also inspire the younger doctors to strive to achieve excellence in research, institution building, and to provide compassionate care to their patients,” said Dr. Singhi.

The yearly awards acknowledge and honor esteemed healthcare professionals for their remarkable achievements in the medical field and their commitment to excellence in medical leadership, contributing significantly to the betterment of society as a whole.

A communication addressed to her from the Secretariat of the Sitaram Jaipuria Foundation said that the foundation salutes Dr. Singhi as a life-saver who is a source of inspiration to doctors and women across the country and recognizes her immense contributions to the field of Pediatric Neurology and seminal contributions to the field of medicine.

Dr. Singhi’s research has provided the scientific evidence for formulating guidelines in the field of pediatric neurology and has led to paradigm changes in the management of children with neurocysticercosis, CNS infections, autism, and cerebral palsy.

Her expertise and advisory roles in UNICEF, WHO, and World Bark have helped formulate policies for child development and early childhood education. She has also made her mark in global leadership as the President of the International Child Neurology Association.
