In a remarkable display of philanthropy and commitment to healthcare, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi announced that it had allocated Rs 60 crore towards providing free treatment to economically disadvantaged patients during the financial year 2023-24.

During the commemoration of the hospital's 69th Founder’s Day on April 13, 2024, Dr. Ajay Swaroop, Chairman of the Board of Management at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, emphasized the institution's enduring commitment to charitable endeavors. He highlighted that the hospital, widely recognized as the largest charitable healthcare facility in India, had provided free surgeries for 2,647 patients, along with 20,078 free X-rays, 2,238 free MRIs, and 2,661 free CT scans during the aforementioned period.

Dr. Swaroop underscored the exemplary performance of the hospital staff and its unwavering dedication to patient care, charity, and academic excellence. He also announced the forthcoming establishment of a comprehensive cancer care center, along with the addition of 200 beds to further bolster the hospital's capacity to serve the community.

Mrs. Sujata Sharma, Vice Chairman of the Sir Ganga Ram Trust Society, paid tribute to the institution's founder, Sir Ganga Ram, lauding his vision and philanthropy that led to the establishment of the prestigious hospital. Founder’s Day also served as an occasion to honor the dedicated employees who have contributed significantly to the hospital's journey, with long service awards and accolades bestowed upon distinguished doctors and staff members.

Dr. D.S Rana, Chairman at Sir Ganga Ram Trust Society, also a renowned Nephrologist and Padma Shri Awardee, said, "This hospital has diligently followed in the footsteps of Sir Ganga Ram, with charitable activities at the forefront. We take immense pride in continuing the legacy and each member of our team, including consultants, Para-medical staff, and administrative personnel, has unwaveringly upheld the ethos and principles of Sir Ganga Ram. The celebration featured a cultural program presented by the students of the School of Nursing of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, followed by a community lunch attended by invited guests and the hospital's extensive staff of over 4,000 individuals.
