Prega News Launches #LetThemDecide Campaign, Advocating for Women's Reproductive Autonomy

Prega News, a leading pregnancy test kit brand from Mankind Pharma, has unveiled a powerful new video campaign titled #LetThemDecide. The campaign aims to shed light on the societal pressures women face regarding the decision to have a second child, advocating for the right of couples to make this choice independently.

The poignant film highlights the prevalent societal expectation for women to have a second child, despite data from the Union Health Ministry's National Family Health Survey revealing that 76% of married women in India do not desire a second child. The video centers around Shilpa, a married woman with one child, who experiences constant pressure and scrutiny regarding her family planning decisions.

Joy Chatterjee, Associate Vice President and Sales and Marketing Head of Mankind's Consumer Business Unit, emphasized the importance of initiating a conversation about reproductive autonomy. He stated, "With #LetThemDecide, we are initiating an important conversation that needs to be had, that the decision to have a child should lie solely with the couple themselves." Chatterjee stressed the need to empower women to make this choice freely, without external pressures.

The campaign aims to foster open communication, mutual respect, and freedom of choice within relationships and families. Chatterjee expressed Prega News' commitment to driving positive social change by addressing systemic gender biases and advocating for women's reproductive autonomy.

The #LetThemDecide video will be launched across digital platforms and promoted strategically by Prega News. As India's leading pregnancy test kit brand, Prega News aims to raise awareness on women's empowerment and promote diversity, inclusion, and women's advancement across the country. This initiative aligns with Prega News' broader commitment to serving as a comprehensive pre, during, and post-expert pregnancy care partner.
