Supreme Court Issues Notice on Plea to Cancel NEET-UG 2024 Exam Over Alleged Paper Leak

The Supreme Court has issued a notice regarding a plea seeking the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2024 exam due to an alleged paper leak. The court has sought a response from the National Testing Agency (NTA) on the matter and has scheduled the next hearing for July 8, along with a similar plea.

During the proceedings, the bench expressed concerns about the impact on the exam's integrity and emphasized the need for answers from the NTA. Justice Nath issued the notice, stating that responses from the NTA should be filed in the meantime. However, he also mentioned that the counselling process should not be halted.

Justice Amanullah echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the importance of addressing the issues raised in the plea.

Additionally, there was a discussion regarding legal representation during the proceedings, with Justice Nath clarifying that senior counsels would not be permitted during vacations. Advocate Nedumpara, representing the petitioners, expressed his refusal to be considered a senior counsel.

Furthermore, there was a request to tag a new petition challenging the NEET results with the ongoing case. Justice Vikram Nath directed the counsel to mention this request before the Registry and assured that it would be routed through the Chief Justice for listing.

Advocate J Sai Deepak also mentioned a fresh petition challenging the NEET results, prompting Justice Vikram Nath to advise him to mention it before the Registry for further action.

Overall, the Supreme Court has taken note of the plea regarding the alleged NEET-UG 2024 paper leak and has initiated the process to address the concerns raised.
