This medication is a combination of Ambroxol (mucolytic), Chlorpheniramine Maleate (antihistamine), Phenylephrine (decongestant), and Menthol (cough suppressant). It is formulated to alleviate symptoms associated with respiratory conditions such as cough, nasal congestion, and rhinorrhea.

Indications

-Relief of cough due to respiratory tract infections and allergies -Reduction of nasal congestion -Alleviation of symptoms related to rhinorrhea and associated discomfort


Dosage

-The recommended dosage for adults and children above 12 years old is one tablet every 4 to 6 hours as needed. -Children aged 6 to 12 years old should take half the adult dose. -It is important to adhere strictly to the recommended dosage unless otherwise directed by a healthcare professional.


Contra-Indications

-Hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients -Severe hypertension -Concurrent use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of their discontinuation -Prostatic hypertrophy -Bladder neck obstruction -Pregnancy (especially during the first trimester)


Special Precautions

-Patients with hepatic or renal impairment should use with caution. -Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular diseases, including hypertension and arrhythmias. -Avoid use in patients with angle-closure glaucoma. -Avoid use in patients with hyperthyroidism. -Avoid alcohol consumption while using this medication. -Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration of treatment.


Side Effects

-Common side effects may include drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, nausea, and gastrointestinal discomfort. -Rare but serious side effects may include allergic reactions, palpitations, increased heart rate, urinary retention, and difficulty breathing. -Discontinue use and seek medical attention if any severe side effects occur.


Drug Interactions

-Concomitant use with other antihistamines, sympathomimetic agents, or central nervous system depressants may potentiate adverse effects. -Use with caution when combining with medications metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes. -Avoid concurrent use with other cough and cold medications to prevent overdose.
